Getting the NVFR rating

The Night VFR rating is often an add-on that a newly minted private or commercial pilot feels would be a nice-to-have extra ticket. ‘Two weeks and I will have it’ is the thought. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Some pilots view the NVFR as a poor mans instrument rating that will allow them to fly the night skies anytime but in reality they are fooling themselves.
