Almost there
‘There and Back’ ready for departure
As the departure date for ‘There and Back’ approaches on May 5th, the culmination of all of the planning is set to translate from preparation to practice. To mark the centenary year of powered flight appropriately has called for a significant number of elements to be overlaid on a flight plan that resembles a flight around Australia. When the Jabiru’s wheels leave the ground at Bundaberg, a truly fascinating journey should lay ahead.
A Nineteen Day Century.
We live in a nation rich with aviation history. From Lawrence Hargrave’s pioneering work with Box-Kites through our pioneers like Smithy and Hinkler to the brilliance of Dr. David Warren and the origins of the Flight Data Recorder (FDR), it is an absolute treasure trove of milestones. The only downside of this wonderful aerospace environment is the difficulty it presents when planning a centenary flight.
