Labour relations

I’m not sure if the aviation industry is more or less afflicted with the problem of labour relations than other industries, but it is certainly a constant theme.

Throughout this issue there are stories that relate to problematic relations between aviation companies and their workforces. From p34 we interview Airservices CEO Greg Russell, and talk extensively about the collective agreement pay dispute process that dragged on for 18 months and, if not for ministerial intervention, looked to be close to bringing the airline system in this country to its knees with air traffic controller strike action.
