Using bizjets for emergency medical retrievals
Australia has long been the pioneer of urgent aeromedical evacuations since the Royal Flying Doctor Service started in 1928, but business jets are increasingly becoming the vehicles for urgent patient transport, albeit primarily on overseas missions.
Jet aeromedical services are now available around the country, with aircraft now stationed in Sydney, the Gold Coast, Townsville, Darwin and Perth able to provide rapid, round-the-clock availability to retrieve patients from Southeast Asia and Oceania who require treatment in Australia.
