ATR presents the -600 series
ATR officially presented the prototype of its ATR 72-600 (pictured above) in a ceremony at Toulouse on October 1.
“We are very proud and very happy to present our first ATR 72-600 today,” said Stéphane Mayer, ATR’s chief executive officer. “The improvements to our new -600 series are written into our continuous development philosophy in order to optimally respond to the needs of our customers, whether in terms of reliability, control of operation costs as well as passenger service and comfort. ” According to outgoing ATR sales director for Australia Laurent Negre, “The -600 series is a strong endorsement by our shareholders in the future of the turboprop and the positioning of ATR going into the future. ” Negre has relocated to Singapore where as of October 1 he took up the position of president of ATR Eastern Support. His replacement as sales director for Australia is Guillaume Huertas, who will be based in Singapore but will spend approximately one week a month in Australia.
