But despite today’s financial pain, most airlines and certainly aircraft and engine manufacturers realise the importance in dramatically reducing aviation’s contribution to greenhouse gas emissions. Unfortunately, more so than for many other industries, reducing aviation’s ‘carbon footprint’ is a monumental challenge, given our reliance on fossil fuels.
