MAS beats bankruptcy to fight out the financial crisis
Since staring down an imminent bankruptcy in 2005, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) achieved a significant turnaround to post a record profit in 2007, but the airline still sees challenges ahead in the current environment.
Three years ago, then newly appointed chief executive officer Idris Jala identified that the carrier was facing major problems which, if not resolved, would confine the airline to its grave.
