Virgin Blue, Qantas cut growth plans as fuel continues to hurt

Australia’s two biggest carriers, Qantas and Virgin Blue, have cut their capacity growth projections for the current year as the price of jet fuel continues to bite.

While both carriers had previously announced capacity cuts in June, both announced further cuts in July, including the first mention of redundancies from an industry which has, until now, been facing a skills shortage.
