The Review Process Aviation Had To Have?
The federal minister responsible for aviation, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, Anthony Albanese, has launched the aviation policy review process that arguably this industry had to have.
This magazine has covered many of the constraints and issues facing aviation in Australia, from congestion at Sydney Airport to environmental concerns, to skill shortages (of pilots and engineers), to industry’s relationships with the regulator CASA. There’s a breadth of challenges confronting aviation such that in the past we have argued for the need for a junior minister or parliamentary secretary with responsibility for aviation, so that aviation gets the attention and guidance it needs within a much broader ministerial portfolio.
