787 under pressure with first flight delays

Boeing is confident that despite further delay’s to the 787’s first flight it can meet its planned first delivery target of May next year.

Boeing told investors and journalists on September 5 that it now does not expect the 787, which was rolled out amid great fanfare on July 8, to fly until sometime between mid November and mid December. This means Boeing will have just six months to flight test and certify the technologically advanced 787, four months fewer than for the 777 program.
