The Philadelphia-based regional airline Ransome Airlines has been purchased by Pan Am Corporation, to provide a feeder service at J F Kennedy Airport for Pan American World Airways. The airline, which has eight Dash 7s and four Nord 262s, will be renamed Ransome Pan Am Express, flying services from Kennedy to Albany, Rochester and Syracuse.

The British Aerospace EAP fighter technology demonstrator was unveiled in a ceremony at Warton on April 16 and flight testing should begin at the end of May. Half of the EAP’s originally estimated development cost of £160 million has been provided by the UK Government, with the remaining costs paid by BAe and a number of equipment suppliers.
