Aermacchi has acquired production and worldwide marketing rights for the Finnish Valmet L090TP Redigo turboprop trainer following a recently signed agreement between the two companies. Aermacchi has renamed the 450shp (335kW) Allison 250 powered trainer the M-290TP Redigo. (Valmet)

General Aviation Falcon 900EX Records
The Dassault Falcon 900EX long range corporate jet set two new world speed records on a flight from Paris to the recent Asian Aerospace ’96 show at Singapore. Dassault is claiming records between the city pairs of Paris/Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi/Singapore. Total time between Paris and Singapore was 12hr 50min (including a 40 minute fuel stop in Abu Dhabi) for an average speed of 499kt (924km/h) over the 6400nm (11,855km) route. With the help of tailwinds, the first leg to Abu Dhabi took only 5hr 39min to complete, an average groundspeed of 566kt (1048km/h) over a distance of 3200nm (5927km). Ten people were aboard the Falcon during the flight.
US GA Deliveries Up
Following up the short item on 1995 US general aviation manufacturers’ deliveries which appeared in last month’s Stop Press, we present more details of the year’s activities. Overall deliveries reached 1077 aircraft (928 in 1994) worth $US2.8bn comprising 576 piston engined types (up 15%), 246 business jets (up 10%) and 255 turboprops (up 23%). Raytheon was the industry leader in turbine aircraft sales, delivering 225 aircraft including 26 Hawker 800 and 30 Beechjet 400A business jets, 96 corporate turboprops (including 13 out of production Starships) and 65 regional airliners. Including military sales, Raytheon’s turbine engined total for the year rises to 271. Of the other manufacturers of turbine aircraft, Cessna delivered 200 (including 113 Citations and 87 Caravans), Fairchild seven Metros, Gulfstream 26 GIVs, and Learjet 43.
