Improved Combat Capabilities Planned By Coalition Government
The Liberal National Government elected on March 2 is committed to improving the combat capabilities and readiness levels of the Australian Defence Force, and instituting a flatter, more efficient and better managed Department of Defence.
It also will review the Defence Committee process which is seen in many quarters, including Defence industry, as too cumbersome and slow in reaching decisions. The objective is to make the system more effective and faster.
