Air Maroochy Airlines ceased operations on December 30 with its Maroochydore to Brisbane service being transferred to Flight West Airlines. Airnorth took delivery of Metro 23 N3022L msn DC-840B at Darwin on February 9 after the aircraft ferried in from the United States. The Metro 23 later entered service with Airnorth as VH-ANY which was the registration previously carried by a Cessna 404 in the Airnorth fleet. In turn however the Cessna 404 VH-ANY was reregistered VH-PNY. Hazelton Airlines took delivery of its fourth Metro 23 VH-HWR at Cudal on January 22. Hazelton commenced a twice daily return service between Geelong/Avalon and Sydney on February 19 using Saab 340B equipment. Kendell Airlines added a seventh Metro 23 to its fleet in early March with the delivery to its Wagga base of VH-KEX msn DC-872B. The Metro 23 was ferried across the Pacific from San Antonio, Texas to Australia as N3030X. The entry into service of a seventh Metro 23 will eventually see the removal from the Kendell fleet of its two remaining Metro IT aircraft VH-KDQ and VH-KDR, however at time of writing this is unlikely before the third quarter of 1995. The first aircraft in the Kendell fleet to carry the new Ansett livery was Saab 340A VH-EKT.
On February 2 VH-EKT entered service with Kendell in its new scheme which was applied by V H Aviation at Albury. King Island Airlines has added the much traveled PA-31-350 Chieftain VH-LIL to its fleet. In the last twelve months VH-LIL has seen service with regional operators Gawne Airlines, SA Regional Airlines and Airnorth Regional. King Leopold Air commenced regional airline operations on January 16 using PA-31-350 Chieftain VH-KLK to operate a twice daily service (Mon/Wed/Thu & Fri) between Broome and Derby. King Leopold Air planned to commence operations from Broome to One Arm Point and Cape Leveque in late February. Peninsula Airlines ceased operations at close of flying on February 5. In its latest timetable effective January 18 Peninsula had dropped Canberra, Deniliquin, Wollongong and Sydney/Bankstown from its network with services being retained from their Melbourne/Essendon base to Echuca, Flinders Island, Griffith, Hay and Swan Hill. Skywest Airlines took delivery of its third Fokker 50 at Perth on January 26 when VH-FNG ferried in from Melbourne via Adelaide and Kalgoorlie.
