Bryan Banston is the new General Manager for Australian Airlink. Ansett Australia has appointed Gary Smith to the new position of General Commercial Manager, responsible for sales, marketing and inflight services. Paul Tattersall has taken up the newly created position of Vice President, Australasia, for Avro International Aerospace. Alan Harrison, Ansett Australia’s Director of Engineering and Maintenance, has joined the Civil Aviation Authority’s Australian Aviation Advisory Committee. Qantas’ Executive General Manager of Information Technology, Ian Riddell, has resigned. Bill Morgan has been appointed General Marketing Manager of Cargo Community Systems of Australasia (CCSA), a division of Travel Industries Automated Systems (TIAS). Vale – Dick Butcher, the popular and very effective PR Manager for Rolls-Royce during the 1970s and ’80s, passed away peacefully on June 26.

Bottom Line

British Aerospace Australia hasannounced a 17% increase in profits to$4m for the 12 months ending December 31 1993. Sales for the year increased 2% to $89m.
