Captained by Pilot Officer (PO) Russell Williams, veteran Lancaster R5868/S-Sugar flew its 110th mission on July 4/5, attacking St. Leu d'Esserent V-1 storage sites. When the war ended, "S for Sugar" was still flying with 467 Squadron RAAF with 136 operations recorded. These included eight trips to Berlin, 24 times to the Ruhr, and nine times to Italy. Russell Williams eventually went from 467 to fly with 83 Pathfinder Squadron RAF between November 1944 and April 1945. (Ros Williams)
