The USAF took delivery of the first F-16C version of the Fighting Falcon at General Dynamics’ Fort Worth Division on July 19. The F-16C and the two-seat equivalent, the F-16D, will be produced at Fort Worth in parallel with the earlier F-16A and F-16B. Deliveries of the F-16 now exceed 1200 and nearly another 2800 are scheduled up to 1994.

The development of the changes to the RB211-524D4 used in the Boeing 747 has been completed by Rolls-Royce. The changes will give a 2% improvement in fuel consumption. The deliveries of the D4 upgrade will commence next month to power the Qantas Boeing 747-338s.
