Mig Grounding Lifted

On March 13 1993, MiG-15UTI (SBLim-2), VH-LSN, crashed at Canberra, killing the pilot and passenger.

As a result of the accident the Civil Aviation Authority quickly moved to ground the aircraft type in Australia pending the outcome of the investigation by the BASI and the CAA. The four aircraft that were effected by the grounding were: VH-ADY owned by Greg Lovett of Melbourne; VH-DIE, Barry Hempel, Brisbane; VH-BPG, Hockey Treloar, Sydney; and VH-XIG, John Weymouth, Victoria River Downs, NT.
