Industry Group Opts for Us Airspace System:
Using its own resources and funds, the Bankstown Airport Chamber of Commerce has launched a survey to establish the attitude of professional operators to what airspace system should be employed in Australia.
The Chamber sent out several hundred questionnaires to flying schools, charter operators and even EMS units to ascertain a broad brushed reaction to what industry felt was practical following the CAA’s abandonment of its revised airspace regime. Interestingly, an overwhelming majority (98%) opted for adopting the US ICAO system with compulsory use of transponders whilst 96% replied that all aircraft should now be fitted with ELTs.
