Mig-15s Grounded

Following the fatal crash of MiG-15(SBLim-2), VH-LSN, at Canberra on Saturday March 13, the MiG-15 type in Australia was grounded by the CAA while the accident investigation takes place.

It is understood from several sources that the aircraft was on fire in the air and that the most likely reason for the loss of control during the aircraft’s final moments was that a control push rod burnt through. It is to be noted that the BASI and CAA accident investigation is still underway and that no official statement has yet been released.
