Dan Air took delivery of the first fully definitive version of the British Aerospace 146 Series 100 on May 23. Mr F E Newman, Dan Air’s chairman, accepted G-BKMN’s logbook from BAe’s managing director Sir Raymond Lygo. The aircraft was number 6 off the line and first flew on May 5.

The Novorossisk, the Soviet Union’s third Kiev class carrier, arrived in the Mediterranean during May working-up trials. On board were 12 Yak-36 Forgers and 23 Ka-25 Hormone helicopters.
