After Hours – F-117 & Jetfighter II

The Games Pack – Jetfighter II, F-117 Nighthawk, Gunship 2000

Flight simulator software is amongst the best selling of the games types, and competition between companies is fierce.

As a result, new programmes are regularly offered with new features that make the older games seem so obsolete that they disappear from the marketplace. The dilemma in this series of articles is to bring a person who has never experienced the delights of these simulations “up to speed”, while reviewing products that can still be purchased.

These are two simulations that have a lot to offer to meet this progression criteria. The first is Jetfighter II, which has excellent flight controls and is a good step up from a Cessna or Learjet offered by Microsoft Flight Simulator 4. 0 (refer p55 April 93 AA). F-117 Nighthawk meanwhile has a beautifully crafted simulation of an electronic battlefield and provides a good introduction to war gaming from a single aircraft perspective.
