Product Report – Mobile One Headset
Mobile One – General Aviation Headset
Recently, A A made a flying visit to Mobile One Australia Pty Ltd, manufacturers of a range of aviation headsets. The aim was to have a look at their manufacturing facility and to test their “Head Set General Aviation” (HSGA) to see how it compares with similar headsets on the market.
Mobile One has been established for some twenty years having been set up by its Managing Director, Greg Ackman to manufacture antenna systems as a result of his early interest in CB radio. The manufacturing facility is located in a large hangar at Camden airport having relocated from premises in Minto several months ago.
Greg has had a long standing interest in aviation and currently owns a Grumman Tiger. About three years ago he entered into an arrangement with Carl Holden, a professional sound recordist, to develop and manufacture aviation headsets. Carl had developed a headset for use in ultralights, a very demanding operating environment and Greg could see the potential for development of a general aviation headset.
