Fourth Trojan Airborne
At Darwin, NT the first of three T-28D model Trojans being restored there recently took to the air.
The aircraft, understood to be serial number 49-1519 and ex Royal Laotian Air Force serial number 3408, joins Trojans VH-NAW, VH-SHT and VH-XVT as the fourth of the type to fly in Australia. Owned by John Weymouth, the machine has an interesting history. Starting out as a model T-28A for the USAF it later took up US civilian registration, N8098H and had several owners in Arizona and California before being remanufactured by North American in the 1960s as a model T-28D.
