Eastwest Airlines’ sixth BAe 146-300, VH-EWN, was delivered to Tamworth on 1 May and entered service the following week. F28-4000 VH-EWA, which had been withdrawn from Eastwest service prior to this for maintenance, was ferried from Tamworth to Melbourne in early May. After painting and refurbishment, VH-EWA was delivered to Ansett Express.
Qantas rolled out Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGA in the colours ofAustraliaAsiaAirlines at Sydney in late April. Boeing 747-238B VH-EBJ, which still carried its Air Pacific colours, departed Sydney for Singapore as QF501D on 30/04. After overhaul in Singapore, VH-EBJ entered service with United Airlines as N158UA. The six month period June to November will be a busy one for Qantas as they accept delivery of eight aircraft as follows: 06/91 Boeing 747-438 VH-OJK; 07/91 Boeing 747-438 VH-OJL; 08/91 Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGI; 09/91 Boeing 747-438 VH-OJM; 10/91 Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGJ and VH-OGK; 11/91 Boeing 747-438 VH-OJN and Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGL.
