1990 Regional Airline Directory

For Australia’s Regional Airlines the period covered by our report from September 1989 through October 1990 has been one of highs and lows.

The AFAP dispute in August 1989 proved to be a plus for most operators though a few did report their traffic figures well down. Most of the regional operators adapted well though and made full use of the availability of their aircraft to seek out new routes. By April the market had climbed back to its pre-dispute days but fell away badly again during the winter months. Latest indicators

are however. that there is once again growth and as we enter a deregulated market it will be interesting to see if this benefits the reg onal airlines.
