Another New Airline Emerges From Split in Capitol Ranks:
A third potential new entrant airline has emerged following a major split in the ranks of senior management of Capitol Airlines in late July. The split saw the core of the ex-TAA management team leave to begin setting up their own airline.
Capitol meanwhile, despite ongoing delays in obtaining financial backing, is still planning to be operational by November 1 next year. The airline, via a major merchant bank, will be going to the market with a major float during the course of this issue in an effort to raise the funds required to obtain the 8 long-range MD-83s that it has paid deposits on from Irish Aerospace, a GPA/MDC joint venture established in 1986 to lease MD-80 series jets.
