On The Airbands

Here we are again, tuning up and keying the mike button to check in once more with ‘On the Airbands’ and more airborne mirth!

John Foster of Mosman NSW only recently discovered us. He tells me that a couple of years ago he monitored military UHF on a receiver with channels fixed by crystals, unable to perform the search function of a scanner. John doesn’t identify the receiver, but states nowadays, UHF sounds ‘dead’, with no activity on it. Not quite so John, it’s very much alive and well, with most frequencies retransmitted on civil VHF!
