Farnborough International ‘88

Although not exhibiting at Farnborough – having made the decision that only one full-scale foray onto the world scene every two years is justifiable – the Association was represented by its Chairman and Executive Director who were able to accept the thoughtful invitation of the President of the Society of British Aerospace Companies to attend Farnborough. It was indeed an honour for our small Association to be seated at the same table as the giants of our industry· and to be able to take part in significant discussions ranging over a number of issues of particular relevance to this most international of industries.

Whilst at Farnborough, the Association discussed matters related to market access, cooperative programmes, European internal harmonisation in 1992, offsets, technology transfer and the roles of associations in supporting international co-operation.
