Possible Import Restrictions on anr108a Aircraft?

It is possible that persons wanting to import a Warbird, Antique or Classic type aircraft, to be operated under ANR1OBA, may not be able to do so in future unless the subject type has some historical significance to Australia’s aviation heritage.

Recently a new issue of the Dept of Transport and Communications (OTC) Airworthiness Instruction (AWi), relating to the operation of Air Navigation Regulation 108A (ANR108A), was released by DTC Head Office. The AWi, Issue No4 dafed August 1987 was issued in order to clarify queries regarding ANR1OBA operations. While it is beyond the scope of this column to cover all points of the AWi, two are of particular note.
