Airline Movements
A quieter period for airline deliveries with the highlights being the arrival of two 737-376’s for Australia, two 737-130’s for Ansett New Zealand, the first Mohawk 298 for Lloyd Aviation and the departure of the second Air Queensland ATR-42.
Australian Airlines 11th and 12th 737-376 flew into Melbourne on June 26th to complete their order for this type. Routing for VH-TAY and VH-TAŻ on their Trans-Pacific ferry was different from previous aircraft in the fleet. From Seattle, they flew direct to Honolulu then via Majuro to Townsville and Melbourne. VH-TAY c/n 23490 is named “Valiant’ while VH-TAZ c/n 23491 is “Victory’. Both aircraft entered service with Australian Airlines the following day.
