John Spiers interviews BILL MEEKE and DENNIS HOWE

The takeover of East-West Airlines by the Skywest group of Western Australia last Christmas sent shockwaves through the airline industry. By the third quarter of this year, Skywest/East-West was well on the way to establishing a national jet network linking all State capitals, albeit on some less than direct or non-stop routings.

John Spiers spoke to Skywest and East-West’s new joint managing directors, Bill Meeke and Dennis Howe about their plans and philosophies for developing Australia’s ‘third airline’.
