The Hand of Friendship

It was quite by accident that I was invited on a regular East-West flight to Grafton and Kempsey with Captain Mike Rigg and First Officer Richard Blatchford . . .

One could almost say it was the hand of Friendship that beckoned us out in the cold and dark Mascot morning towards EWO, Echo Whiskey Oscar, to take Flight 84 to Grafton and then on to Kempsey and back to Sydney.

To the commuter, this is just another country flight, but to the crew, this and every flight is planned with meticulous detail, all systems checked and cross-checked many times.
