The slow-moving giant

After being formally launched in 2001, the Airbus A380 suffered a difficult development period during which its service introduction was delayed three times over two years and numerous fixes were – and still are – required on many early aircraft.

Despite these early difficulties, the A380 entered service with launch customer Singapore Airlines in late 2007 and has quickly become an airliner of choice for regular travellers, offering an increasingly reliable dispatch rate and very comfortable passenger experience for travellers.
