Imagine having a hundred years of Australian aviation achievement flying across the walls of your boardroom, reception area, or entrance to your corporate offices?

As an all-important component of our rich aviation history, how proud would you, your people, your suppliers, and Air Force visitors be standing before such a spectacular piece?

Introducing ‘Then. Now. Always.’ – a truly outstanding military artwork that pays homage to the heritage of our magnificent Air Force, and treasures the courage and technological advancement that has taken us from here to the stars in just one hundred years.

Engaged by the Royal Australian Air Force to ensure comprehensive coverage of their centenary, military marketing experts BrandNet commissioned Drew Harrison – one of Australia’s leading military and aviation artists – to create this modern masterpiece.

Now, so all corporate personnel, their families, friends, suppliers, and supporters of Air Force can enjoy this magnificent visual history of the last 100 years, a selection of high-quality, framed, limited-edition reproductions are being released for display in corporate buildings, galleries, military establishments and museums, with smaller versions being made available to the general public.

A significantly sized centrepiece to draw the admiration of all, the 1-metre X 3-metre artwork also carries a poignant, engraved message from Air Marshal Mel Hupfeld, AO, DSC, Chief of Air Force, which reads:

‘On the occasion of the Centenary of the Royal Australian Air Force as it continues reaching for the stars. Per Ardua Ad Astra’.

‘Per Ardua Ad Astra’ is a Latin phrase meaning “through adversity to the stars” or “through struggle to the stars”, and is the official motto of the Royal Australian Air Force, epitomising the bravery, sacrifice and grim determination in the face of adversity, all who serve in the Air Force personify.

BrandNet also arranged for a small disc of metal from the first F/A-18 ever built and flown in Australia to be placed on the engraved inscription plate of the original as well as a limited edition run of 100, as shown above.

Artist Drew Harrison said, “I have taken cues from the RAAF 100 logo imagery and the phrase THEN-NOW-ALWAYS. The design is split into a triptych containing three individual canvases that reflect this transition of heritage. At the centre of the composition is a single pilot figure. This unifying element is intended to represent all the invaluable personnel who have contributed to the Air Force’s fabric.”
