Former CAF Geoff Brown joins Lockheed Martin Australia board

AIRMSHL Brown at his 2015 CAF Symposium on Monday morning.Former Chief of Air Force Geoff Brown has been appointed to the Lockheed Martin Australia board.

“Geoff Brown is known for his comprehensive understanding of the complexities and challenges facing not only the RAAF, but the Australian Defence Force, as we move into the world of fifth generation capabilities, and we are delighted that he will bring that experience and perspective to the Lockheed Martin Australia Board,” Lockheed Martin Australia and New Zealand chief executive Raydon Gates said in a statement on Friday.

“Most significantly, Geoff was the key architect of Plan Jericho, which will see the transformation of every aspect of Air Force’s systems, operations, training, simulation, acquisition, sustainment and personnel management to fully realise the breadth and depth of opportunities afforded by the latest fifth generation capabilities.”

Brown served as Chief of Air Force between July 2011 and July 2015. Joining the Air Force in 1980 and initially serving as a CH-47 Chinook helicopter pilot, his career highlights include command of 3 Squadron (flying the F/A-18A Hornet) and 82 Wing (flying the F-111), Commander of Air Combat Group, Director General Capability Planning at Air Force Headquarters and Deputy Chief of Air Force.
