A Boeing 737-800 business jet belonging to Malaysian royalty has flown into Perth.

The gold BBJ2, registration 9M-III, touched down in Perth just before 1400 local time on Tuesday, bearing the royal crest and flag of the Malaysian state of Johor, located just over the border from Singapore.

The brand new aircraft (MSN 60686, line number 5129) was delivered to the Sultan of Johor on March 3. It flew to Perth from Senai Airport, located on the outskirts of the city of Johor Bahru.

The Sultan of Johor, Ibrahim Ismail, is understood to be both an aircraft and car enthusiast.

Pff, you say it like we don’t all own 1 week-old gold 737s.

If I’m honest though, I wouldn’t paint mine that colour, luckily I’ll never have to worry about making that decision….
