A PNG Air Dash 8-100 has emerged from a Cairns paintshop sporting the airline’s new livery.

The turboprop P2-MCT, which previously flew for North Queensland-based Skytrans, came out of the hangar on December 3 and completed a test flight the next day before it was ferried to Port Moresby on Saturday December 5.

PNG Air first unveiled its new livery, which represents the diverse peoples and culture of Papua New Guinea on the tail, in November when it took delivery of its first ATR 72-600.

The airline, which operates domestic flights within Papua New Guinea and was previously known as Airlines of PNG before its rebranding, is progressively replacing its Dash 8-100 fleet with ATR 72-600s, having signed a firm order for six ATRs with options for 14 more.

Nice livery. Being so used the the Q400s, that little -100 looks so cute!
