Regional carrier Jetgo is expanding its regular public transport (RPT) network with new flights between Townsville, Rockhampton and the Gold Coast due to take off from September.
The flights will run three times a week on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays and operate on a triangular Townsville-Rockhampton-Gold Coast routing, Jetgo said on its Facebook page on Thursday.
Townsville is a Jetgo base for its charter and fly-in/fly-out operations.
Jetgo managing director for airlines Paul Brederick says the 36-seat Embraer E135 the airline will use is the perfect sized aircraft for the route.
Currently, QantasLink flies between Townsville and Rockhampton. There is no nonstop RPT service on the Gold Coast-Rockhampton route.
The first flights were scheduled for September 28.
Jetgo’s other two RPT routes were Brisbane-Tamworth and Brisbane-Dubbo.

says:Very excited to hear your news, will there be direct flights between Rockhampton & Townsville?
Jarden
says:Yes its in the report TSV-ROK-OOL is the new route.
Mac Carter
says:Great to have a jet service between Townsville and Rockhampton again.
We have used the Virgin service when it was available some years ago
and it was excellent.
The one stop service to Coolangatta / Gold coast will be a welcome addition for
Townsville and Rockhampton residents wishing to access the Coast and or Northern NSW.
What Townsville and Cairns residents need now is a Jet service between the two centres.
How about it Jetgo?
