Jetgo’s first scheduled regular public transport (RPT) flight has landed at Gladstone Airport.

Flight JG70 took off from Sydney Airport at 0610 local time on Monday bound for the Queensland port city, where it landed about 90 minutes later.

The aircraft, a 36-seat Embraer ERJ 135 jet, was greeted by an Airservices ARFF water cannon salute as it taxied to the terminal.

Jetgo is offering double-daily services between Sydney and Gladstone, breaking the QantasLink monopoly previously on the route.

The airline, which was primarily a charter and fly-in/fly-out operator prior to gaining its high capacity jet RPT Air Operator’s Certificate in October, is adding a second RPT service in January when it commences flights between Brisbane and Tamworth.

I’ve just booked a flight with them in 2 weeks. $398 return – bargain! Can’t wait to travel in my first ERJ-135. Whilst I’m not a Qantas basher, I dare say the experience might be nicer than a Q400…fingers crossed they’re still flying in 2 weeks…..

well done Jet go, you will do more sectors a day than the Dash8,

  • I really do hope JetGo succeed, it certainly wouldn’t be an easy feat getting a service like that up and running,

    Best wishes to them.
