Air New Zealand’s second Boeing 787-9 has completed a second day of flying over Washington State as the aircraft enters the final stages of its preparations before delivery.

Flight tracking website flightaware.com shows ZK-NZF took off from Snohomish County Airport in Everett – the location of Boeing’s 787 production line – at 1052 local time on Wednesday and headed in a northerly direction before turning east. The aircraft then made a right-hand turn and took a southerly track before landing at Grant Co International Airport in Moses, Washington, at 1132.

It was the ZK-NZF’s second flight test, following a one hour and 49 minute first flight on Sunday (September 14). On that occasion, the aircraft headed out to the Pacific Ocean and flew north along the Washington coast before making its way to Moses Lake.

Unlike its all-black sister ship ZK-NZE that is already in service flying between Perth and Auckland, ZK-NZF features the airline’s standard mainly-white livery.

Air NZ has said previously it expects to take delivery of its second 787 by the end of September, although it has recently pushed back the start dates of 787-9 flights to Tokyo and Shanghai by between two and three weeks.

Nice, but just nowhere near the visual impact of their first all-black 787.

Yes nice looking plane, but I think I prefer the all black aircraft ZKNZE
lm not sure why they chop and change the colour schemes , the all black plane sure gets noticed.

I think they have 1 of each type in the fleet in Black- Good for flying the All Blacks round… they could use the white one for the All Whites lol

Air NZ ‘best of the rest’ when it comes to innovation. Classy airline and a joy to fly with.

Air New Zealand are certainly innovative with their livery and their interior design. Real high fliers.

Should have more than one B787-9 in black. Black is awesome! It gets noticed!
