For the second year running, Virgin Australia has taken second place in the Randstad Awards for the best employer in Australia.

The award, which was won by national broadcaster the ABC also for the second year in a row, is based on the results of the world’s largest employment survey into employer branding, and locally was derived from surveys of 7,000 Australian jobseekers about Australia’s 150 largest employers.

Respondents were asked to evaluate the largest employers against 17 factors that determine what drives today’s jobseekers and therefore Australia’s most attractive employer.

Other industry employers that featured in the top 20 include Qantas at six, BAE Systems at seven, the Department of Defence at 12, and travel agency Flight Centre at 17.

    Interesting.

Air New Zealand did not even rate for 2014 – beaten by banks and Government departments. Hard to figure that out considering the recent article in AA interviewing the CEO who ranked Air NZ right up there as a preferred place of employment.

Singapore Airlines – number 1 for 2014 for Singapore.

Maybe the ‘sponsorship numbers’ moved around a bit??

Congratulations to Virgin. Their attitude by almost all staff is a reality that seldom does one find in our airline staff. Some Qantas staff are as good as anyone. the trouble with Qantas cabin attitude is the what about the worker Union Secretary’s. However, The taxpayer funded ABC the best ? Look up the salaries of the chosen few, the shallow biased C.E.O. Tax payer funded dyed in the wool change agents of Australian society, it is sheer madness. Sadly it should not have been reported in an aviation context

This article appears to be incorrectly listed in the military category.

It was also placed in the Military category because Defence was listed in the top 20.
