Qantas will begin codesharing on Bangkok Airways flights to six new destinations in Thailand from March 31.

From that date Qantas will place its code on the following Bangkok Airways services: Singapore-Ko Samui; Bangkok-Ko Samui; Bangkok-Phuket; Bangkok-Chiang Mai; Bangkok-Krabi and Bangkok-Chiang Rai.

Qantas says it is also working with Bangkok Airways on a reciprocal agreement to allow Bangkok Airways passengers to book on Qantas services from Bangkok to Singapore and on “a number of routes on Qantas’s domestic network”.

I like this code sharing strategy Qantas are doing with Asian Airlines. If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.

Indeed a good option for Qantas passengers heading to Bangkok,
as Bangkok airways is a good product!
However Qantas has its own Airline based in Singapore, if there is a market for travel singapore koh samui, why don’t Jetstar Asia operate it, and offer it as a connection to Qantas passengers from OZ?

John from memory Bangkok Airways own Koh Samui airport, they wouldn’t want to give away business to Jetstar.
