Rex will operate 36 services per week between Armidale and Sydney from March 28. (Seth Jaworski)
Regional Express has announced that it will partner with the Armidale Dumaresq Council to commence RPT services between Armidale and Sydney from March 28.
The partnership is the result of a request for interest Rex put out in January for regional councils interested in partnering on new services to and from Sydney. Many of these centres were left without services or had interim services after the collapse of Brindabella Airlines in December.

“We thank all six councils who applied for their keen interest in Rex’s services and we will keep all submissions in mind should future opportunities open up,” Rex’s Network Strategy &
Sales Manager, Warrick Lodge said in a statement. “The decision to award the service to Armidale followed thorough examination of the Armidale market and the results of a comprehensive passenger survey in late 2013 conducted by Armidale Dumaresq Council.”
Armidale Dumaresq Council Mayor Laurie Bishop added, “We welcome Rex to Armidale and are delighted to have this additional service providing benefits to the whole Armidale region.”
