Brisbane-based training organisation, Aviation Australia has announced that 14 of its aircraft maintenance trainees have been selected to work for Qantas at the airline’s Brisbane and Sydney maintenance facilities.

An Aviation Australia statement says 13 of the trainees will start their apprenticeships at Brisbane working on Qantas’s 737 and A330 fleets, while the 14th will work in line maintenance in Sydney on the 737, 747, 767, A330 and A380 aircraft.

“This is an exceptional result for these graduates as they now have the opportunity to train and gain experience in a world class organisation such as Qantas,” Bill Horrocks, CEO of Aviation Australia said. “This outcome demonstrates our excellent record of employment for our graduates from the day students commence their training with us, they are being prepared for productive roles in the industry and this is very attractive to both students and employers, in particular Qantas.”
