New Zealand ordered eight operational aircraft and one spare for delivery between November 2009 and June 2011 to replace its UH-1H Iroquois helicopters. But to date only two are operational, another four have recently been delivered, and one is undergoing major repairs after a lightning strike.
While details of the compensation package are reported as being commercially sensitive, it reportedly includes the cost of chartering Antonov transport aircraft to deliver aircraft to NZ, various discounts, services free of charge, the provision of additional training and support personnel, and extended warranties.
This is old news. The story you cite was published in the NZ Herald on 9:25 AM Sunday Dec 8, 2013. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11168834 Since then the aircraft damaged by the lightning strike has been repaired and returned to service. Apparently the main rotor was replaced with the unit from the machine purchased as the spares package. This was the first time that a NH90 was hit by a lightning strike and the NH90 Users Group will be following this with great interest. Lightning strikes happen and according to reports the aircraft performed as it was supposed to.

It might be old news to those of us that read the NZ Herald, but new news for most of the AA subscribers that don’t. I don’t mind reading news that is only a little over a month “old”. I still remember AA when it was published only quarterly before the internet! Great then and remains so now.
