Indonesian air force (TNI-AU) F-16As have arrived at RAAF Darwin for Ex Elang Ausindo 13, the latest in the series of bilateral airpower exercises between the TNI-AU and RAAF.

The week long Ausindo 13 began on Monday November 18 and runs through to Friday the 22nd and sees up to six Indonesian F-16s exercising with eight RAAF 75SQN F/A-18 classic Hornets deployed to Darwin from RAAF Tindal.

“Exercise Elang Ausindo will enhance the tactical fighter interoperability between our two countries. During the exercise, the TNI-AU will share knowledge and experience in training, including visual manoeuvring and airborne intercepts,” WGCDR  Pete Mitchell, CO of 75SQN, said.

“Flying missions during Ex Elang Ausindo is only one component of the training that we expect to achieve, we will also dedicate considerable time to working together to master the joint planning and briefing process.”

Indo’s have F-16’s and they still cant spot the boat people leaving their country to sail to Australia. Sounds like the Indo government are getting royalties galore from the people smugglers
