Free Australian Defence Business Review iPad app released

written by australianaviation.com.au | February 2, 2012
ADBR's iPad app has been released.

Phantom Media, publisher of Australian Aviation and Australian Defence Business Review (or ADBR) magazines, has published the first Australian defence magazine app for the iPad, released to coincide with the Pacific 2012 International Maritime Exposition this week.

Featuring the January-February Pacific 2012 issue of ADBR, the app is for now a one-off, but Phantom Media is looking at publishing future issues of ADBR for the iPad, while soon Australian Aviation will be available on the iPad every month.

Phantom Media’s aim with this app is to make it an immersive, intuitive user experience, taking full advantage of the iPad platform, while highlighting the real strength of ADBR, it’s content, without it being overshadowed by superfluous functionality.

To download to your iPad, simply search for ‘ADBR Pacific2012’ in the Apple App Store.

Sounds great – of course, I’m using Android on phone & tablet so I won’t be able to make use of it 🙁

Any plans to produce a ‘droid version?

Not in the near term, but as Android tablets gain critical mass it is something we’d look at.

Any idea when the iPad app is coming out for the Australian Aviation magazine? Can’t wait!

Im in. I’m going over to the iTunes store right now to get this issue and will subscribe as soon as you go iPad full time. I already am a subscriber for the online edition but find I don’t read the issues. I haven’t read AA for months. This iPad initiative will re-engage me with Australian Aviation.

+1 for the Android version…. I am finding that I am reading more of Flight International on my Android tablet (Xoom) than I ever did when I had to buy it at the newsagent. As a long time reader (since the first quarterly issues of AADR), I think this is a positive step for AA and I look forward to the day when I too can get access to AA on my Xoom.

We’re getting great feedback on the ADBR app at the Pacific 2012 maritime expo, we’re really excited about the potential of an Australian Aviation app!
