The first 787-9 service to Hong Kong is due to take off on December 13 2018, when the aircraft replaces the Airbus A330 on Qantas’s daily Melbourne-Hong Kong service

Qantas has taken delivery of its fifth Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, with the factory-fresh aircraft touching down in Melbourne on Sunday evening. Registered VH-ZNE, Qantas says the aircraft has been named Skippy, joining VH-ZNA Great Southern Land, VH-ZNB Waltzing Matilda, VH-ZNC Quokka and VH-ZND Emily Kame Kngwarreye.
