Five-part Boeing documentary now available online

Aviation enthusiasts young and old can indulge in all things flying thanks to a documentary series that charts the 100-year history of Boeing.

Produced to commemorate Boeing’s 100th anniversary in 2016, the five-part series titled “The Age of Aerospace” premiered in Australia on subscription television’s Discovery Science channel in March/April.

Sponsored by Boeing, the series charts the revolutionary advancements in the aviation industry and the company’s contributions in civil, military and space technology over the past century, taking a closer look at aircraft such as the B-29 Superfortress, Apollo 8 and the 707, among others.

“The history of aerospace is the history of Boeing, which is on vivid display during this inspiring documentary series,” Boeing Australia and South Pacific president Maureen Dougherty said in a statement at the launch of the series on March 24.

“From the earliest days of flight to today’s 787 Dreamliner – flying with moveable trailing edges made right here in Australia – viewers are taken on a journey that spans 10 decades and demonstrates Boeing’s enduring commitment from the very beginning to always build something better.”
